If you have a large leak in your system, it may be time to consider a new energy efficient system with R-410A refrigerant, depending on the age and amount of R-22 refrigerant needed in your old system. Experts say by January 1, 2020, chemical manufacturers will no longer be able to produce R-22 to service existing air conditioners and heat pumps. Read more about the phase out.
